Don Crouthamel Jr.
Some of my fondest memories are of the smell of race fuel and the sound of my dad's 55 Chevy shaking the whole house, as he started it up with open headers, while tuning it for next weekend's race. I'v spent the last 13 years working under my father, Don Crouthamel Sr., at East Coast Chevy as a welder and Fabricator. I have been continuously learning as much as I possibly can from a true craftsman; metal fabrication is an Art in itself. My experiences in welding and fabrication didn't start there though. They truly started in 1988 when I was 13 and my dad showed me how to gas weld on the floor of his garage. From there I took advantage of my summers to work at Upper Bucks Vo-tech, in the school's mechanics course and later taking two years of auto body and one year of welding while in high school. The next seven were spent at multiple welding jobs crafting my abilities as a welder and fabricator, proving that I was worthy of an apprenticeship under a skilled master metal fabricator such as my father.
I specialize in Custom Exhaust, Tig welding of light gauge Aluminum, Stainless and Mild steel, and Metal restoration of Classic Cars
List of Abilities
Welding:
Tig and Mig welding of
Aluminum, Stainless, mild Steel
Oxy acetylene welding and cutting
Stick welding of stainless and mild steel
Additionally, I have experience with plasma, oxyacetylene and carbon arc cutting. I have the ability to Lay out and Louver hoods and other parts, fabricate prototype parts and fixtures for mass production. I finish my metalwork with a file. I have extensive experience with both vertical and horizontal band saws, grinders, foot shearers, mechanical shearers, planishing hammers, English wheels, belt and disc sanders, chop saws, louver presses, bead rollers, sheet metal brakes, press brakes, sand blasters, and most other common power tools.
